hi!

wie ihr ja bestimmt shcon gehort habt wird es hier in island im sommer nicht dunkel!! ich muss allerdings zugeben dass hier im sueden der insel die sonne schon untergeht... mittlerweile sogar wieder vor mitternacht. und dann ca. 3 std. spaeter wieder aufgeht.

gestern nacht so um 1 uhr morgens hab ich aus dme fenster gesehen und einen wunderschoenen violett-blau-rot-orange-goldenen himmel (oder so aehnlich) gesehen. also hab ich mir meine kamera geschnappt und bin runter zum hafen gelaufen! das ergebnis findet ihr im ordner "midnightsun". also so genial wie's live war isrt es auf den fotos ncicht... aber doch ganz nett ;-)

as you probably already heard is it not getting dark at all here in Iceland in summer! I have to admit though that the sun is setting (by now even before midnight again...) and about 3 hours later rising again!

last night at around 1am I looked out the window and saw an amazing purple-blue-red-orange-golden sky...

so I took my camera and went down to the harbour... the results can be found in the folder "midnightsun"

the pictures are not as amazing as it was live, but still quite nice...

well, now it's not even 7 weeks until my time as volunteer in reykjavik is over.... I booked mi flight to Germany this week and now it's official: I will be back on german ground the 31. of july!!!

I have to say that the time seemed to fly away!! wasn't the on-arrival camp just over?? and now I'm going to my final camp today! but I have to stay it was (and is) a great time here! I learned so much and even like the work, that I couldn't imagine ever doing before I came!

but as most of you probably already know, there's something else i'm "officially announcing here: even though the EVS is over, my time in Iceland is not! I will be here at least one more year! I will work as aupair with a great family in hafnarfjörður (right next to reykjavik ;-) ). and I am really looking forward to that! the kids are just great ;-).

after that I will probably start studying... if here in Iceland, in Germany or elsewhere in this world... I've got no idea... (well,... ideas are there...)

and also my time at the salvation army is not over! I am becoming a member (not a soldier though!) now and will spend a lot of my time here! at services, as volunteer (not full-time though ;-) ), with the choir, etc.  I really found a home here and am very thankful for that!
